Permanent position for a Design Engineer for create innovative designs and manage design projects from concept to completion.
Develop connector solutions to align with aerospace and defense customer requirements.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, procurement and other cross-functional teams to ensure feasibility and production readiness of designs.
Oversee project planning and execution.
Lead and manage multiple design projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and scope.
Create detailed designs for products, components, or systems using SolidWorks.
Perform design calculations, simulations, and analyses to ensure functionality, performance, and safety.
Select appropriate materials, processes, and technologies for design projects.
Develop and test prototypes to validate design concepts and performance.
Analyze test results, identify issues, and refine designs as needed.
Liaise with clients or internal stakeholders to understand requirements and provide updates on project status.
Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and project plans.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
Requirements
BS Mechanical Engineering Minimum 3 years of experience designing for defense, aerospace, or other AS9100 environment.
Experience with connector design is preferred.
Proven experience managing engineering projects.
Proficiency in SolidWorks.
Knowledge of machining, injection molding, additive manufacturing processes.
Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Strong leadership, project management, communication and interpersonal skills.
Problem solving mindset and ability to handle complex, cross-functional projects.
