Electromagnetic Motor Design Engineer

Description

  • Permanent position for an Electromagnetic Motor Design Engineer responsible for design, analysis and optimization of electric motors.
  • Design and develop electric motors based on performance, cost, ,and reliability optimization.
  • Perform electromagnetic analysis using finite element analysis (FEA) simulation tools, such as ANSYS Maxwell, JMAG, or Flux.
  • Optimize performance factors, including torque, speed, efficiency, and thermal management.
  • Optimize material choices, such as copper and magnets.
  • Design motors to convert electrical energy into mechanical motion.
  • Focus on components, including stationary stator / coils and rotating rotor (magnets and windings).
  • Support prototype build, testing and validation.
  • Document designs, calculations and test results.

Requirements

  • BS Electromechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with design or electromagnetic motors.
  • Experience with design and simulation software (FEA).
  • Experience with thermal management and cooling techniques.
  • Experience with electromagnetic motor components and materials.
  • Ability to optimize electromagnetic motor designs.
  • Ability to prototype, test, and validate designs.
