Description
Permanent position for an Electromagnetic Motor Design Engineer responsible for design, analysis and optimization of electric motors.
Design and develop electric motors based on performance, cost, ,and reliability optimization.
Perform electromagnetic analysis using finite element analysis (FEA) simulation tools, such as ANSYS Maxwell, JMAG, or Flux.
Optimize performance factors, including torque, speed, efficiency, and thermal management.
Optimize material choices, such as copper and magnets.
Design motors to convert electrical energy into mechanical motion.
Focus on components, including stationary stator / coils and rotating rotor (magnets and windings).
Support prototype build, testing and validation.
Document designs, calculations and test results.
Requirements
BS Electromechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of experience with design or electromagnetic motors.
Experience with design and simulation software (FEA).
Experience with thermal management and cooling techniques.
Experience with electromagnetic motor components and materials.
Ability to optimize electromagnetic motor designs.
Ability to prototype, test, and validate designs.
