Electromechanical Designer

Description

  • Permanent position for an Electromechanical Design Technician to promote continuous improvement and quality assurance for manufacturing operations.
  • Design, develop, and implement custom tools, jigs, and fixtures to streamline electrical assembly processes.
  • Utilize SolidWorks to create detailed 3D models and 2D technical drawings ensuring conformance to specifications, tolerances, and safety standards.
  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, precision, and ergonomics.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and methodologies to reduce waste and improve throughput.
  • Develop prototypes of tools and jigs for validation and testing.
  • Conduct hands-on troubleshooting and refinement of designs based on actual performance.
  • Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to understand requirements and integrate feedback into designs.
  • Provide technical support and training to operators on proper use of tools and equipment.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation, including design specifications, operation manuals, and maintenance guidelines.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment comply with industry regulations and company standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience designing tooling, fixtures and jigs.
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical assembly, tool maintenance, or equipment troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Connector assembly is ideal.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of project management with problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, such as machining, injection molding, or additive manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Experience working on a production floor with the ability to troubleshoot issues and refine tools and equipment.
  • Familiarity with AS9100, OSHA, and other relevant safety and quality standards.
