Field Engineering Specialist

Description

  • Permanent position for a Field Engineering Specialist to prepare daily schedule of site visits for current projects.
  • Conduct and coordinate construction site visits and performs observation and inspection services.
  • Act as construction liaison for company engineering and finance.
  • Complete and submit reports.
  • Review shop drawings and cut sheets from contractors for compliance.
  • Schedule service connections with Operations.
  • Observe contractor’s installation of water service lines.
  • Observation includes trench restoration, and installation of water service lines on private property, etc.
  • Schedule and observe disinfection and pressure testing.
  • Sign off on development projects.
  • Create a tracking system of unauthorized water usage at project sites.
  • Create a notification process to inform the Engineering and Finance Divisions.
  • Responsible for GPS of newly constructed water assets using company equipment.
  • Coordinate field changes with contractors and engineering.
  • Conduct site investigations to verify design sketches for projects.

Requirements

  • AAS Engineering or Construction Management.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience in engineering construction.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with engineering applications, including record keeping.
  • Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Understanding and compliance with county policies and procedures.
