Permanent position for a Project Manager to oversee environmental investigation and remediation projects from planning through execution.
Responsible for developing project scope, budgets, and schedules, managing staff and subcontractors, preparing technical reports and proposals, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Complete key project deliverables with no prompting from senior management.
Oversee and ensure that assigned staff perform the project work in compliance with work plans, documentation, and applicable laws and regulations.
Regular client and regulatory communication, mentoring junior staff, and overseeing deliverables.
Review and edit field documentation, reports, data summary tables, and other deliverables prepared by others.
Prepare bids/proposals, summary reports, investigation reports, remedial action work plans, and design documents to comply with client and applicable regulatory requirements.
Review and approve subcontractor/vendor invoices, employee timesheets, and employee expense reports.
Effectively and regularly communicate with clients, regulatory personnel, supervisors, and project staff regarding projects being managed.
Develop and implement project logistics and coordinate with outside consultants, subcontractors/vendors, and service providers.
Requirements
BS in Environmental Engineering or Geology Licensed PE/PG preferred.
Certifications, OSHA 40-hour (HAZWOPER), 30-hour, and 10-hour.
NYCDOB Site Safety Training certifications.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong analytical abilities, Experience with NYC Office of Environmental Remediation (OER) rules, guidance, and other requirements.
Extensive knowledge of New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) regulations and guidance.
Experience with Brownfield Cleanup and spill response investigations.
Experience with all aspects of environmental due diligence assessments (Phase I / II Environmental Site Assessments), subsurface investigations, remediation, and mitigation.
Experience with report writing, managing budgets, drafting proposals, preparing work scopes and cost estimates, and implementing field investigation and remediation projects.
Required to perform physically strenuous work in the field (20%).
