Lead CNC Machinist

Description

  • Lead CNC machinist for a manufacturer of high-tech, precision components, primarily for the medical device industry.
  • Primary responsibilities will include:.
  • Technical performance and continuous improvement of CNC machining work center.
  • Machining MIM components and stand alone production of plastic and metal parts.
  • Provide support for engineering and new product development initiatives.
  • Develop innovative tooling and fixtures to improve process capability and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to improve cycle times, machine utilization, setup efficiency, tooling life, and overall manufacturing costs.

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience in CNC machining, CNC programming and CNC setup.
  • Experience with 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis milling, and experience with CNC lathes.
  • Experience machining carbon steels, stainless steels, engineering plastics, and various alloys.
  • Proficiency with Mastercam with 3, 4, and 5-axis machining.
  • Solid understanding / experience with GD&T and tolerance control.
