Lead Engineer position for a manufacturer of industrial equipment.
Primary responsibilities will include:.
Supporting design, manufacturing, repair, and field service of centrifugal pumps and steam turbines.
Support the design of new pumps and pump components using FEA and 3D CAD/CAM software.
Generate 3D models, detailed drawings, and reverse-engineered geometry from 3D scan data.
Provide engineering support to operations for manufacturing and repair execution.
Support sales and customers by reviewing specifications, selecting and specifying components, and creating requisitions.
Participate in teardown and inspection of pumps and turbines, determine repair method and scope, and support cost estimating for manufacturing and repair work.
Lead field service crews performing installation, repair, and commissioning of rotating equipment.
Provide hands-on factory test support, including installation and laser alignment of new and repaired equipment.
Requirements
BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
Experience in the design and application of centrifugal pumps and related rotating equipment.
Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic system design and components.
Basic knowledge of electric power, electric motor and control systems.
Strong knowledge of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing).
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Able to work in a manufacturing shop or operating plant environment, including navigating stairs and lifting up to 50 lbs.
