Description
Permanent position for a Machine Shop Manager to manage all operations of a manufacturing facility producing rotating equipment.
Primary responsibilities will include:.
Lead machining, assembly, and welding staff on the machine shop floor.
Capacity planning for the machine shop and test areas.
Budgeting and forecasting for headcount, spend, inventory, and capital outlay.
Manage the supply chain from vendor qualification through contract negotiation.
Direct production scheduling, preventive maintenance, and ongoing process improvement.
Track jobs and floor transactions through the ERP.
Lead Lean implementation.
Provide cost estimates supporting sales and engineering.
Work hours at this facility are from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
Requirements
Engineering degree or equivalent hands-on machine shop experience.
Minimum 10 years supervising a precision machine shop.
Working knowledge of CAD/CAM, CNC, and manual machine tools.
Fluent reading engineering drawings and specifications.
Proven root cause analysis and corrective action skills.
Experience operating under ISO or MIL-spec quality systems.
Familiarity with ASME weld/pressure-vessel codes and casting QC a plus.
