Machining Technician – 2nd shift

Description

  • Permanent position for a Machining Technician supporting precision machining operations at an advanced materials manufacturer.
  • Set up and operate CNC equipment to drill and machine precision glass components to print.
  • Perform tooling changeovers between product families and run multiple machines concurrently.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance including cleaning, coolant and filter service, and tooling inventory control.
  • Inspect work output against drawings and specifications and record inspection data.
  • Track process and inspection results and review process stability on a recurring basis.
  • Identify machine and process issues requiring Engineering or Maintenance support and participate in the Total Preventive Maintenance program.
  • Complete material transactions and scrap reporting in the ERP system.
  • Support downstream production operations and maintain a safe work area in accordance with 5S and audit requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of CNC setup and operation experience.
  • Hands-on knowledge of machine tools, gauges, and metrology practices.
  • Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to hold tolerances to +/- .0001″.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret complex manufacturing drawings and process layouts.
  • Ability to write and revise work procedures.
  • Experience troubleshooting equipment and process issues on the floor.
  • Associate degree in an engineering or manufacturing technology discipline a plus.
  • Experience machining glass or other brittle materials a plus.
