Description
Permanent position for a Machining Technician supporting precision machining operations at an advanced materials manufacturer.
Set up and operate CNC equipment to drill and machine precision glass components to print.
Perform tooling changeovers between product families and run multiple machines concurrently.
Perform routine equipment maintenance including cleaning, coolant and filter service, and tooling inventory control.
Inspect work output against drawings and specifications and record inspection data.
Track process and inspection results and review process stability on a recurring basis.
Identify machine and process issues requiring Engineering or Maintenance support and participate in the Total Preventive Maintenance program.
Complete material transactions and scrap reporting in the ERP system.
Support downstream production operations and maintain a safe work area in accordance with 5S and audit requirements.
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of CNC setup and operation experience.
Hands-on knowledge of machine tools, gauges, and metrology practices.
Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Ability to hold tolerances to +/- .0001″.
Ability to read blueprints and interpret complex manufacturing drawings and process layouts.
Ability to write and revise work procedures.
Experience troubleshooting equipment and process issues on the floor.
Associate degree in an engineering or manufacturing technology discipline a plus.
Experience machining glass or other brittle materials a plus.
