Description
Permanent position for a Manufacturing Engineer to collaborate with customers during design and development phases to review part designs.
Responsible for continuous improvement and process optimization for manufacturing.
Provide DFM feedback that optimizes manufacturing.
Lead DFM review sessions with customers and engineers.
Lead contact between customers and internal departments to resolve technical issues.
Coordinate engineering to meet customer requirements, project timelines, and production readiness.
Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) through VMFG.
Communicate with customers regarding prints, specifications, and process clarifications.
Oversee project and part timelines.
Track work status.
Estimate completion dates.
Provide regular updates to senior management on project status.
Work with the Quality Department to address nonconforming products.
Research and recommend new manufacturing technologies.
Ensure smooth handoff between Engineering and Manufacturing Operations.
Requirements
BS in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing role.
Experience with DFM, control plans, and ECNs.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems (VMFG experience preferred).
Ability to interface effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
Experience with CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
Familiarity with CNC machining and quality assurance processes is a plus.
Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
Experience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment is a plus.
