Manufacturing Engineer

Description

  • Permanent position for a Manufacturing Engineer to collaborate with customers during design and development phases to review part designs.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement and process optimization for manufacturing.
  • Provide DFM feedback that optimizes manufacturing.
  • Lead DFM review sessions with customers and engineers.
  • Lead contact between customers and internal departments to resolve technical issues.
  • Coordinate engineering to meet customer requirements, project timelines, and production readiness.
  • Manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) through VMFG.
  • Communicate with customers regarding prints, specifications, and process clarifications.
  • Oversee project and part timelines.
  • Track work status.
  • Estimate completion dates.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on project status.
  • Work with the Quality Department to address nonconforming products.
  • Research and recommend new manufacturing technologies.
  • Ensure smooth handoff between Engineering and Manufacturing Operations.

Requirements

  • BS in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing role.
  • Experience with DFM, control plans, and ECNs.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (VMFG experience preferred).
  • Ability to interface effectively with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or other quality management systems.
  • Familiarity with CNC machining and quality assurance processes is a plus.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • Experience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment is a plus.
