Permanent position for a Manufacturing Process Engineer to evaluate existing processes and configure rubber manufacturing systems to reduce cost, scrap, variability, and develop best practices.
Responsible for improving the processes and operations sustainability and new process development, including process design, operation, and implementation.
Work with equipment designers and vendors, in-house engineering, and manufacturing staff.
Develop and implement cost-effective systems that optimize all phases of the production process.
Review and approve process modifications, new equipment investments, new die and molds Maintain reliable and safe manufacturing systems while improving production rates, efficiencies, yields, costs, and changeovers.
Create and maintain work instructions, acceptance criteria, and other process documentation for rubber manufacturing.
Evaluate and analyze current rubber extrusion, building, and molding process metrics and performance to identify areas requiring improvement.
Lead problem solving activities, conduct root cause analysis, and develop corrective action plans.
Implement lean manufacturing techniques.
Ensure projects are completed on time.
Work with in-house product design teams to optimize the design for manufacturability.
Collect, record, and transcribe data and create reports to show results.
Requirements
BS Engineering preferred Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing process development of rubber or plastics molding.
Working knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Creo.
Strong technical, analytical and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to work in an un-airconditioned environment for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
