Materials Engineer – Brazing

Description

  • Permanent position for a Materials Engineer to determine root cause of deviations from critical process specifications to resolve braze related issues.
  • Train operators about proper procedures and processes.
  • Create and revise work instructions and training materials.
  • Implement and maintaining feedback systems.
  • Monitor Braze department performance to ensure processes are optimized.
  • Work toward continuous improvement of processes.
  • Improve production capacity, quality, and reliability.
  • Works with automation team to increase first time yield and equipment uptime.
  • Develops improved preventative maintenance programs.
  • Maintain NADCAP certification.
  • Provide support to Metallography lab and Heat Treatment, Weld, and Alloy Process Owners.

Requirements

  • BS Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science.
  • Experience with brazing, welding, and/or metal joining systems and the ability to apply these within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of heat treatment thermal processing with an emphasis on brazing processes.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of an organization.
  • US Citizen or Green Card required as position is with a defense contractor.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Black Belt preferred.
  • Experience working with controls and programming robotics.
  • Ability to create and deliver training in technical topics.
  • Experience troubleshooting process equipment.
