Permanent position for a Mechanical Analysis Engineer to perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on industrial rotating equipment, including pumps, turbines, and compressors.
Develop and execute finite element analysis (FEA) for structural, modal and harmonic response.
Perform thermal analyses after creating 3D solids models from 2D drawings.
Support troubleshooting of rotating equipment by integrating field vibration data, experimental modal analysis (EMA) test results.
Analyze operating deflection shape (ODS) test and motion magnification results.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) of vibration, structural resonance, and mechanical failures.
Collaborate with field engineers and senior staff to correlate analytical and test data.
Analyze structural resonance risks, seismic loading, dynamic loading, fatigue and stress analysis, and rotordynamic behavior.
Recommend design improvements and modifications based on analytical findings.
Prepare technical reports with actionable recommendations.
Requirements
BS Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
Minimum 0-3 years of experience, including co-ops and internships.
Exposure to vibration, dynamics, controls or data acquisition is a plus.
Experience with Creo and SolidWorks for solid modeling.
Experience with ANSYS for finite element analysis.
Exposure to vibration, dynamics and structural analysis.
Knowledge of rotating equipment in the process industry, including pumps, compressors, turbines, etc.
Exposure to rotordynamics, vibration testing and materials fatigue.
