Permanent position for an Optical Scientist responsible for conducting innovative research and development in optical fiber devices, including fiber lasers, gratings and sensors.
Work with a team to conceive, design, assemble and test novel optical fiber devices using expertise in waveguide photonics and related disciplines.
Interface with manufacturing for advanced designs.
Contribute to external publications and the generation of intellectual property, as well as interacting with customers.
Requirements
MS or PhD in Optics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with publications or presentations.
Lab experience working with optical components and optical fibers.
Coursework and/or research experience in photonics and optics, preferably optical fibers.
Lab automation and computer skills.
Data analysis and lab automation through computer programming with Matlab, LabView, Python or similar.
