Plant Equipment Superintendent

Description

  • Permanent position for a Plant Equipment Superintendent to oversee and optimize large municipal wastewater treatment plant equipment operations, performance and maintenance, including mechanical, electrical, pump stations, and collection systems.
  • Responsible for collaboration with operations, engineering, maintenance, IT, safety, and finance teams to ensure all plant assets are operated and maintained properly, adhering to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Validate, track, and monitor equipment, machinery, infrastructure and other plant assets.
  • Responsible for maintenance, upgrades, and replacement planning and creating strategic maintenance plans.
  • Monitor equipment performance with data analysis and walk-through inspections.
  • Identify performance trends, areas needing improvement, and conduct failure analysis.
  • Supervise Preventative Maintenance Department and develop and implement preventative and predictive equipment maintenance schedules.
  • Identify potential risks with equipment breakdowns, develop mitigation strategies, and develop and implement a risk scoring system.
  • Develop and prioritize capital expenditure planning and budgeting for equipment replacements and upgrades.
  • Ensure asset management practices adhere to industry standards and regulations.
  • Create, troubleshoot, and improve CMMS workflows.
  • Develop maintenance SOPs and training documentation and train new system operations.
  • Develop and maintain asset labeling and barcoding.

Requirements

  • BS Engineering with PE license.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with large utility or plant equipment management including maintenance, operations, and capital projects.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and operations of large mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and process equipment.
  • CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional), and CRL (Certified Reliability Leader) or with the ability to obtain certifications.
  • Must have knowledge of SQL, Power BI, and Autodesk,.
  • Experience with Oracle WAM Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and PMWeb Document Management System.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Familiarity with construction management processes.
  • Ability to develop clear, concise and sound reports.
