Process Engineer

Description

  • Permanent position for a Process Engineer responsible for ensuring that the casting processes are performed in compliance with the methods, materials, and equipment specifications.
  • Perform root cause analysis of any deviation from critical process specifications.
  • Provide technical support to Process Engineering to resolve casting related issues.
  • Develop a timely and formal reaction plan to address deficiencies.
  • Report on the critical process status on daily and monthly basis.
  • Responsible for control and approval of all dipping routines.
  • Responsible for daily interface and communication of issues with manufacturing, maintenance, facilities personnel.
  • Institute proper project monitoring, follow up and feedback system to ensure financial and contract targets are met.
  • Optimize yields and minimize rework.
  • Utilize process management designed experiments, IPM and SPC, and Cpk for continuous improvement.
  • Provide technical guidance to management and peers in areas of current or potential needs of the plant.
  • Routinely review process for adherence to established techniques and to ensure the repeatability of approved process.

Requirements

  • BS in Materials, Mechanical, or Metallurgical Engineering.
  • Previous experience in investment casting ceramics.
  • Minimum 3 years experience with industrial manufacturing.
  • Ability to work in a self-directed or team environment.
  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Black belt/Green belt certification preferred.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and create project plans.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from the customer and/or management.
