Permanent position for a Quality Inspector supporting an electronics manufacturing operation.
Perform receiving inspection of purchased components and materials against drawings and specifications, and disposition nonconforming lots back to the supplier.
Perform in-process inspection and relay required corrective adjustments to production personnel.
Perform final inspection and release finished assemblies prior to shipment.
Verify functional performance of completed units against internal specifications and applicable industry standards.
Use hand gauges, calibrated scales, multimeters, and automated optical inspection equipment to verify conformance.
Escalate recurring defect trends to suppliers and internal departments, and recommend process changes to correct them.
Reconcile inspection records against shipment documentation.
Record inspection results in logs and reports, including scrap and rework summaries, and enter data into the quality management database.
Requirements
Associate degree in an electronics or manufacturing technology discipline, or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 2 years of quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
IPC620 and J-STD-001 certification.
Working knowledge of electronics assembly processes and common defect modes.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly prints, and bills of material.
Experience with dimensional and electrical measurement instrumentation including calipers, gauges, and multimeters.
Experience with automated optical inspection systems a plus.
