Quality Control Inspector – Aerospace/Defense

Description

  • Permanent position for a Quality Inspector to examine products and materials for defects or deviations from specifications.
  • Ensure conformity of incoming materials and products through required certifications, dimensional, and visual inspections.
  • Perform In-process and final inspections on production molds, production parts, and fixtures.
  • Read blueprints, specifications, and customer requirements in accordance with quality policies, quality procedures, and work instructions.
  • Generate Non-Conformance reports for non-conformities found during inspection process.
  • Issue return material authorizations (RMAs) when required.
  • File SAE AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports.
  • Set up and use precision measuring instruments such as CMM (coordinate measuring machine), OGP (optical comparator), and KEYENCE (Image Dimension Measurement System).
  • Perform calibration of inspection equipment as required.
  • Inspect products using gauges, micrometers, calipers, coordinate measuring machine, optical comparators, scales, and visual inspection prior to production or shipment.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or higher or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a quality inspector with dimensional inspection experience.
  • Experience with inspection tools including micrometers, calipers, thickness gages, and height gages.
  • Minimum 2 years experience with CMM and Optical Comparators’ (OGP / KEYENCE).
  • Must have proficient computer skills working with Excel, Word, and other software.
  • Must be able to read and interpret blue prints with some GD&T background.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and other technical drawings that detail product specifications.
