Permanent position for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to oversee projects, from pre-design through construction administration and final closeout.
Project engineering for power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, etc.
Responsible for hands-on design, task delegation, and mentoring of junior staff.
Lead the electrical design for large commercial projects and manage multiple project deliverables.
Mentor junior engineers by providing technical support and guidance to drafting and designs.
Oversee quality control and ensuring project standards are met.
Manage project schedules, budgets, and client coordination.
Attend project design and construction meetings, serving as a technical resource.
Tracking project milestones and ensuring timely delivery of design packages.
WFH on Fridays, but can work remotely an additional day if needed.
Requirements
BS in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum of 7 years experience in electrical systems design of commercial, educational, hospitality, or healthcare facilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Experience in power distribution (single-line diagrams, panel schedules, wire sizing, voltage drop and short circuit calculations), lighting design (specifications, controls, egress, and circuiting), and fire alarm design.
Experience with shop drawing review and coordination.
Generation and implementation of electrical punchlists.
Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), International Building Codes (IBC), and ASHRAE/IECC energy codes.
Knowledge of construction methods, equipment manufacturers, and available products.
Experience with conducting field surveys to support design documentation and as-built drawings.
