Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Description

  • Permanent position for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to oversee projects, from pre-design through construction administration and final closeout.
  • Project engineering for power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, etc.
  • Responsible for hands-on design, task delegation, and mentoring of junior staff.
  • Lead the electrical design for large commercial projects and manage multiple project deliverables.
  • Mentor junior engineers by providing technical support and guidance to drafting and designs.
  • Oversee quality control and ensuring project standards are met.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and client coordination.
  • Attend project design and construction meetings, serving as a technical resource.
  • Tracking project milestones and ensuring timely delivery of design packages.
  • WFH on Fridays, but can work remotely an additional day if needed.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in electrical systems design of commercial, educational, hospitality, or healthcare facilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Experience in power distribution (single-line diagrams, panel schedules, wire sizing, voltage drop and short circuit calculations), lighting design (specifications, controls, egress, and circuiting), and fire alarm design.
  • Experience with shop drawing review and coordination.
  • Generation and implementation of electrical punchlists.
  • Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), International Building Codes (IBC), and ASHRAE/IECC energy codes.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, equipment manufacturers, and available products.
  • Experience with conducting field surveys to support design documentation and as-built drawings.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Ability to conduct QA/QC reviews.
