Senior Electrical Engineer

Description

Permanent position for a Senior Electrical Engineer to oversee electrical design projects high performance building systems.
Position is with a leading NYC (midtown) MEP design engineering consulting firm.
Complete projects profitably and on schedule to develop high quality electrical system construction documents.
Develop building automation system (BAS) controls and sequences of operation.
Prepare electrical technical specifications.
Mentor, train, and develop staff.
Responsible for project quality control.
Conduct calculations of electrical system requirements including power distribution, lighting systems, and fire alarms.
Manage project schedules, budgets, and client coordination.

BS Electrical Engineering.
Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical design of commercial building systems.
PE License required with experience in leading a project.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
Experience with design of electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, voltage drop, and fire alarm.
Strong leadership and motivational skills.
Project management experience.
Strong working knowledge of applicable NEC, NFPA, NYC Fire Protection Electrical Codes.
Experience with shop drawing review and coordination and generation and implantation of electrical punchlists.
Ability to conduct QA/QC reviews.
